In order to transcend warfare, we have to transcend any notion of group identity. We need to identify simply as human beings – even better, as spiritual beings. We are citizens of the cosmos, not members of different countries or religions or ethnic groups. We are one the same, both physically and spiritually
Today we have reached a point where we can no longer afford to ignore this inner world. It is human actions and human decisions that lie behind so many of the world’s problems….Our global crisis is, at its root, a crisis of consciousness.

We are a species gone mad. The essence of the madness that afflicts our species is that we don’t know who we are. Many of us have become identified with our mask, our persona, the role we are playing in the world. Intrinsic to this process is that we split off, dissociate from and compartmentalize the darker, less savory aspects of ourselves, rendering them unconscious.
To an impartial observer – say, an alien zoologist from another planet – there must be very compelling evidence that human beings suffer from a serious mental disorder, and are perhaps even insane. The last few thousand years have been an endless catalogue of insane behavior.

Instead of blindly and passively subscribing to the new normal, let us create “the new abnormal,” in which we step into the radical act of being our naturally creative selves.
