According to the News Release, “The People’s Party will register in all 50 states and intends to win the presidency in 2024. It will run on a new social contract of desperately-needed progressive policies such as Medicare for all, free public college, abolishing mass incarceration, a basic income, and a Green New Deal — overwhelmingly popular policies that the establishment parties refuse to support”.
Vision: A functional, healthy, and transparent political system that works for the benefit of each and all — where we are united in our desire to solve problems together, and where truth and justice prevail.
Mission: To define, call forth and animate political awareness, discourse, action and programs that address systemic problems at their root, and recognize the interrelatedness of ecology and economy, individual fulfillment and collective wellbeing.
Letting Go of Doing is not about not doing things. It is about letting go of the doing mode of consciousness – the attitude we bring to our doing. The “doing mode” tells us we have to make a phone call, run an errand, respond to an email, do the laundry, complete the budget, prepare for the meeting. These may well be things that we have to do. But when we are stuck in the “doing mode” our attention is caught in the “having to do them, drive to get them done.
The future is coming faster and faster. This speeding up is the consequence of innovation breeding innovation, leading to exponential rates of development. As well as the many scientific and technological advances this will bring, it also places stress on the underlying systems – personal, social, planetary – accompanied by growing crises. Now more than ever we need our spiritual practice, to stay cool, calm, and collected in the coming storm of change.
When persuading individuals to take action or adopt change, stories are more effective than facts. Stories bring down resistance and open the mind of the listener to new possibilities. Effective storytelling engages the audience into the story as actors, not simply listeners.
In the challenging times that we are living through, it is crucially important for us to not “fit in,” but rather, express our unique creative spirit that more than anything wants to come through us and find its place in the world. Instead of blindly and passively subscribing to the new normal, let us create “the new abnormal,” in which we step into the radical act of being our naturally creative selves.
If we really want to live in a world of love and joy and abundance and peace, we need to start CREATING this world, and we create this world by ACTIVELY ENTERTAINING the idea of world peace and getting busy and serious creating peace in our own sphere of influence.
By revealing that we live in a thoroughly quantum universe, quantum physics is literally placing the keys to our future in our own hands – the question is, do we know how to wisely use the gift that is being freely offered to us?
A question I’m often asked is, “Is mysticism a religion?”
Mysticism is a spiritual discipline aiming at direct communion with God or the ultimate truth. It is not a religion and, in fact, all religions have mystics. There are Christian mystics, Jewish mystics (Kabbalists), Islamic mystics (Sufis), Buddhist, and Hindu mystics. Where all the tenets of these religions intersect is where you’ll find the mystics.
Imagine the world thirty years from now. Very likely we’ll see quantum computing, nano-tech medicine, 3D-printed organs, artificial intelligence surpassing that of the human brain, possibly fusion power. Advances in molecular biology could be pushing life-expectancy ahead faster than we are aging. Our bodies, senses, and mental functions may be augmented in ways that seem like science fiction today.
Is intelligence something that can be seen on a person’s face? If we are talking about predicting a person’s IQ score with a tiny margin of error, then probably not. Researchers claim that there are at least 23 different kinds of intelligence. Since our faces reflect our thoughts and feelings, it is not surprising that we will find quite a few facial clues to help us answer this question.
